Memo Ramirez and Lorena Muro - Cafe Cafe

Café Café is located on Lopez Mateos #496-2 (Calle Primera) in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. We opened our doors on October 2nd 1993 as a hip coffee bar and Art Gallery with live music. On the first floor you'll find a full service coffee bar and a very impressive array of Mexican Contemporary art from all over Mexico.

Café Café invites you to take a look at our unique collection of metal wall sculptures, candleholders, wall sconces, ceramic art, glasswork, Retablos (art prints over canvas), and authentic Huichol and Surrealist Art.

Guillermo Ramirez and his wife Lorena Muro opened Café Café as the only place (at the time) in Ensenada with an appreciation for edgy underground art. As ‘Memo’ Ramirez recalls, “We had poetry, avant-garde movies, punk rock, jazz . We even had 17 musicians from the cruise boat play in here once"

Today Café Café has expanded to include a second floor which serves as an exhibition room and a place to chill out from busy Calle Primera. Beer and wine are also served at the café.

Contemporary Art

Café Café has been a showcase for many local and foreign artists in different disciplines such as plastic arts, poetry , book readings, films, theatre, and music. This is where the eclectic and surrealist come into one place, ranging from jazz, punk rock, folk, pop, electronic, etc. Manu Chao and the guys from Sublime have performed here, and the cafe was the launching ground for many of the now famous musicians from Baja California, like the guys from Nortec.

Café Café serves the best Cafe Mochas on the west coast, inspired by the legendary chocolates from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, and serves the coldest beers in town with plans to display the best of the local wines.

We hope you enjoy your shopping experience here on this site. If you have any questions, please feel free to Contact Us. Have a nice day!
